HORTICULTURAL GARDEN
MASTER OF ARCHITECTURE // INTEGRATED STUDIO
The concept is based on mapping vegetation and wind and conducting climate analysis as in the previous submissions. Moving forward from the research, the focus is on designing simple structures that can be undertaken by students and the faculty enabling them to learn through the process whilst also providing new pathways and gathering spaces around the site. The promotion of capacity building at a grass-roots level will facilitate increased knowledge and skills transfer; supporting local and regional business through the sourcing of local materials from the town of Esperance and the broader State of Western Australia. The project brief aims to be locally inclusive and will therefore factor in using and promoting the place, the people and their culture; resulting in a natural flow and connectivity to be formed between the school, town and nature.
